It was great to meet with you and your team and see your busy
facility at Lunt Solar Systems.
While I was touring your factory, I happened to look through one of
the new LS50 Filters mounted on a TeleVue Ranger telescope that was
being tested. The view of the Sun was absolutely stunning.
It was easy to detect very faintest prominences due to the extreme
high contrast, and complete lack of ghosting.
I was also quite impressed with the full sweet spot across the entire
field of view that allowed me to scan the surface of the Sun without
having to tune the Etalon to pick up the finest details. This may be
a subtle point for those just getting started in solar observing, but
those who are experienced observers and solar imagers will really
appreciate the abilty of the filter to hold the bandpass across a
very large portion of the field.
I have observed through and tested many fine h-Alpha filtered
telescopes over the years, and it is my humble opinion that the LS50
ranks among the very finest filters I have had the pleasure to look
through, and I believe it's a stunning value.
You and your team should be congratulated for producing this truly
professional-quality filter, and making it available at a price that
is easy to afford.
